Description
Domestic abuse rates soared under lockdown. Union reps were often a vital link to the outside world for women trapped with their abuser — uniquely positioned to make contact with a members stuck at home.
This guide aimed to equip reps with the skills and awareness to maintain contact with vulnerable workers, and provide appropriate support to them without inadvertently placing them at even greater risk.
My role
I worked with the TUC's policy officer for womens' rights and equality to identify clear steps and actions reps could take to help protect members at risk of domestic violence.
I designed the learning so reps could complete in 10 minutes or less, and I prioritised mobile design, mindful that many learners might not have access to computers whilst in lockdown.
