Description
A Moodle/Totara course involving around 30 hours of learner commitment over several months. This was aimed at union learning reps (ULRs) based in workplaces all over the UK. The aim was to help them promote learning opportunities within their workplaces, and help members develop their skills.
The course featured around 50 self-paced study modules, but I combined these with structured discussion forums. This was crucial because the learners' own experiences were probably as valuable as the content. I devoted a significant part of my time on the project to designing effective forum activities.
My role
As a starting point, I referenced materials from an old classroom-based version of the course. These needed significant updating, and I worked with subject matter experts from unionlearn and the TUC. I wrote all content, and developed the modules in Adapt, with added discussion activities in Moodle/Totara.
